RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP) OF HERKIMER COUNTY
With RSVP, you choose how, where and when you want to serve. You choose the amount of time you want to give. And you choose whether you want to serve as a transporter, food pantry worker, friendly companion, counselor, tutor, or one of our many other volunteer opportunities.
The initial step includes completing an application form and interviewing the program director. Once the assignment is made, the volunteer receives a brief orientation from the RSVP staff and additional instruction and supervision at the volunteer site.
We Value Our Volunteers
"Without the dedication and selflessness of the volunteers of Catholic Charities of Herkimer County, the ability to assist the most vulnerable in our community would be greatly diminished.
The volunteers are truly inspiring and brighten the lives of those around them."
Jeff Petrie
Coordinator for the MVPRC
"Our volunteers here at CCHC are the most caring, hardworking, dedicated people I know. Without their help, we would not be able to serve our community and provide our many services. They are a true blessing!"

Essential Programs Coordinator

"I was a school teacher for 36 years. When I retired, I wanted to do something to give back to the community. Working at the food pantry has been a wonderful experience. I look forward to it every month. I love to meet new people, carry on conversations and help those in need. It's been such a heartwarming experience."
